Carol Salzer would like everyone to know that she personally recruited Melinda Borgnis and Liza Eden to help with alterations this year. All three ladies are charging the same rates and all three of them are accomplished seamstresses. And even better, they are collaborating with one another to give you the best possible service on all your alteration needs. So, you need not hesitate to book your fittings with any one of them. That said, due to the fact that Carol Salzer has committed to making most of the lead costumes for the Cinderella ballet, she will not be making any new alteration appointments until she completes most of that work. Please go to the links below on Signup Genius to book your appointments with Melinda Borgnis and Liza Eden.
Below you will find information regarding our seamstresses for this year:
Melinda Borgnis – Melinda is a Family Consumer Science teacher who helped Carol alter dance costumes last year. Melinda started sewing in 4-h when she was 8 and won a national competition for sewing with her prom gown. She has designed, made, and altered many prom gowns and bridesmaid dresses over the past 12 years.
Liza Eden – DSDW mom to “little Nic” has altered all of Nicole’s dance costumes and ballet shoes throughout the years, costumes for plays as well as clothing for her other children. Her mom was an avid sewing enthusiast and Liza was exposed to sewing/alterations at an early age. She was a seamstress on the costume committee this year for Newtown Middle School’s “Music Man” production and sewed costumes for Goodnoe and Newtown Elementary school plays “Annie”.
